Memory Inspection

Memory card inspection involves third-party inspectors visiting the manufacturing facility to conduct pre-shipment inspections on various memory cards—such as TF cards, SD cards, and other storage cards—based on purchase orders, approved samples, specifications, and mutually agreed-upon AQL sampling standards. The process entails verifying model numbers, nominal capacities, read/write speeds, physical build quality, compatibility, markings, and packaging; detecting functional defects; and making an overall assessment of product quality. A neutral third-party inspection report is then issued to enable overseas buyers to decide whether to authorize shipment.

The Importance of Memory Inspection

Memory Inspection4

Memory cards and related electronic products carry significant quality risks, such as "capacity-faked" cards (where the reported capacity exceeds the actual storage) and unstable read/write performance. Once shipped overseas, resolving returns or exchanges involves cumbersome procedures and incurs additional costs related to logistics and port storage. Pre-shipment inspections screen for issues-including capacity discrepancies, read/write failures, device non-recognition, and cosmetic defects-thereby preventing the shipment of substandard goods and ensuring that bulk orders match approved samples. These inspections help avoid mass customer complaints in the end market and safeguard the buyer's brand reputation; furthermore, third-party inspection reports and test records serve as valid, neutral evidence should quality disputes arise between the buyer and seller.

Key inspection items

1. Specification Verification: Verify that the memory card model, nominal capacity, speed class, brand markings, and physical version match the order and approved sample; ensure all parameters on the outer packaging labels are accurate.

2. Visual Inspection: Ensure the card body is free from scratches, deformation, cracks, paint chipping, or burrs; confirm that printed text and logos are clear, without blurring, misalignment, or fading.

3. Actual Capacity Testing: Use professional equipment to measure the usable capacity; screen for "fake capacity" cards (cards with artificially inflated capacity reporting) and confirm the actual capacity matches the stated specifications.

4. Read/Write Functionality Test: Test file read/write stability in a host device; check for data loss, read/write errors, or lag; spot-check read/write speeds to ensure they meet advertised standards.

5. Compatibility Test: Perform insertion and removal tests on compatible devices; ensure proper recognition without issues such as failure to detect or frequent disconnections.

6. Packaging Inspection: Ensure individual blister packs and backing cards are intact and undamaged, providing moisture and dust protection; ensure neat carton packing with clear shipping marks suitable for long-distance sea transport.
