Overview

Production Pre Shipment Inspection (PSI) - also known as Final Quality Control, Pre-Delivery Inspection, or Inspection Before Dispatch - is a professional quality assurance process conducted before goods leave the production facility. It serves as the final verification step to ensure that all products meet contractual requirements, technical specifications, and international quality standards.

By detecting issues before shipment, PSI helps suppliers and buyers minimize risks, reduce costly rework, and guarantee that only approved, conforming goods are delivered.

When the Inspection Is Conducted

The inspection is typically carried out after 100% of production is completed and at least 80% of goods are packed and ready for shipment. This ensures that the inspection reflects the actual condition of the shipment, including packaging quality and labeling accuracy.

Depending on logistics arrangements, the PSI can take place at:
- The manufacturer's factory
- A warehouse or export facility
- A port or consolidation center

Inspection Standards and Methodology

Production Pre Shipment Inspection is performed according to internationally recognized sampling standards, most notably the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) defined under ISO 2859-1 (formerly MIL-STD-105E).

The AQL method determines how many samples should be inspected and the acceptable level of defects within a batch, providing an objective and reliable framework for decision-making.

You can check the table I,if you have 3500 pcs goods,Usually we will randomly check 200 pcs as GII standard.
