Stove Inspection

Stove Inspection involves third-party inspectors visiting manufacturing facilities to conduct pre-shipment checks on products—such as built-in gas stoves, tabletop stoves, and multi-burner commercial ranges—based on purchase orders, approved samples, specifications, and mutually agreed-upon AQL sampling standards. These inspections verify product specifications, appearance and workmanship, structural assembly, combustion performance, safety devices, electrical components, labeling and nameplates, and packaging protection. Inspectors document any quality defects, make an overall determination regarding product conformity, and issue an objective, impartial third-party inspection report to enable overseas buyers to decide whether to authorize shipment.

The Importance of Stove Inspections

Stove Inspection4

Stoves are classified as hazardous gas-powered appliances, making safety performance paramount. Pre-shipment inspections allow for the detection of critical defects-such as gas leaks, flame failure device malfunctions, abnormal combustion, and panel damage-before the goods are shipped, thereby preventing seizure or recalls at the destination port due to non-compliance with safety standards. These inspections also ensure that the bulk shipment matches the approved sample specifications, preventing unauthorized changes to components or gas source requirements by the factory. Since resolving quality issues after sea shipment-such as returns, port demurrage, and compensation claims-incurs exorbitant costs, pre-shipment inspections effectively mitigate such risks; furthermore, third-party inspection reports and on-site records serve as vital, neutral evidence should quality disputes arise between the buyer and seller.

Key inspection items

1. Documentation and Accessories Verification: Verify that the stove model, gas source type, voltage specifications, and panel style match the order and approved sample; inventory accessories such as pan supports, control knobs, gas hoses, and manuals; ensure nameplate parameters, warning labels, and certification marks are complete and legible.

2. Appearance and Assembly Inspection: Ensure the panel is free from scratches, dents, deformation, or color inconsistencies; ensure the casing is free from burrs or rust; verify knobs are correctly installed and operate smoothly; ensure burner heads and supports are securely assembled without looseness or misalignment.

3. Gas Tightness Test: Connect the gas source to perform a leak test; ensure there are no gas leaks at valve bodies or pipeline connections.

4. Combustion Function Test: Ignite each burner head sequentially and test the responsiveness of the heat level adjustments; observe the flame to ensure stability and the absence of abnormalities such as flame lift-off, flashback, or yellow flames.

5. Safety Device Test: Test the flame failure protection device to ensure the gas supply is cut off correctly in the event of accidental flameout; check that ventilation openings are unobstructed to prevent the hazardous accumulation of gas during use.

6. Packaging Inspection: Ensure internal cushioning and protective materials are correctly positioned to prevent panel damage or breakage during transit; verify the outer carton is sturdy and dry, with accurate shipping marks, meeting the requirements for long-distance ocean transport.
