Tire Inspection and Inspection Standards in China

Why conduct tire inspections before shipment?

1.Prevent quantity shortage and wrong item mixing. Tires have many different specifications including dimension, ply rating, load index and tread pattern. Factory workers and warehouse staff may mix different tire types during storage and loading. Once loaded onto vessel, containers cannot be opened for correction, which will lead to huge loss if the consignment is rejected at destination port.

2.Find factory defects and storage damages in advance. Tires may get sidewall scratches, bulges, valve damage, bead deformation and rubber dirt during stacking and handling. High temperature and humidity during ocean transportation will make minor defects worse. Removing defective goods before shipment can avoid shipping faulty tires overseas.

3.Verify sea freight packaging protection. Bare tires without proper wrapping will squeeze and rub against each other inside containers during long voyage, causing massive deformation and surface damage. The inspection confirms stretch film wrapping, bead protector, partition board and binding fixing to avoid cargo collision damage.

4.Check compliance of branding, origin mark, DOT certificate and molded sidewall text. Wrong marking or missing certification will cause customs detention, penalty and failure of customs clearance at importing country.

5.Clarify liability boundary for quality issues. Official pre-shipment inspection report clearly judges whether defects are caused by production, warehouse storage or ocean transport damage. It provides valid proof for claim compensation and return negotiation to reduce trade disputes between buyer and seller.

6.Meet mandatory quality control requirements of overseas buyers. Foreign distributors, retail chains and engineering fleet clients usually require third-party tire pre-shipment inspection report for L/C negotiation and final balance payment release.
