Why conduct an inspection of barbecue grills before shipment?

1.Defects like poor welding, loose parts or gas leakage may trigger burns and fire hazards when end‑users operate the grill. If such issues are only found after ocean shipment, buyers are likely to reject the whole batch.
2.Missing accessories, misaligned assembly holes and scratched surfaces will bring lots of after‑sales trouble. Catching faults locally helps firms avoid expensive return freight and compensation disputes. It also keeps product appearance on par with approved sample.
3.Besides, many overseas regions set strict safety rules for barbecue appliances. We double‑check warning marks and nameplates during inspection, to lower risks of customs detention and pass buyer acceptance.
Inspection Standards
Sampling rule
Follow AQL standard: critical defect 0, major defect 2.5, minor defect 4.0, general inspection level‑II. Pick samples randomly from batches where production is finished and most units are packed.
Quantity & document check
Cross‑check model number and total production quantity. Make sure user manuals, warning stickers and certification marks are complete and match buyer's requirements.
Appearance & assembly
No dents, heavy scratches or sharp burrs on main body. Weld joints shall be smooth without cracks. Screws and fittings should not be missing or mismounted. Lid opens and closes freely. Unit stays stable and will not tip during tilt test. Grill grid and drip tray keep flat without twist.
Material & food‑contact parts
Material and thickness of cooking grid comply with specification. Coating surface should not peel off. Parts touching food shall meet food‑contact safety requirement, no risky substance migration.
Function & safety test
1.Gas type
Gas tube free from crack or squeeze. Zero gas leakage during air tightness test. Ignition works reliably. Flame burns evenly, no flash‑back or abnormal yellow flame. Control knobs have clear gear position.
2.Charcoal type
Air damper can be adjusted smoothly. Fuel chamber without crack. Handles on high‑temperature area shall be heat‑insulated.
3.Electric type
Power cord in good condition. Insulation and earthing pass check. Heating function works well, no short‑circuit or electric‑leak risk. Temperature control switch responds properly.
Accessories
All accessories such as grill tools, drip tray and castors shall be complete and undamaged.
Packaging
Inner cushion material shall protect unit against transit shock. Carton shipping marks are correct. Outer box without heavy crush or hole.
Judgement
If defect count exceeds AQL limit, whole batch needs rework or sorting. Re‑inspection pass is required before shipment. Any critical safety defect leads to direct fail result.
